Crispy Oyster Mushrooms with Chili and Five-Spice

Ingredients

  • Oyster mushrooms: 500 g
  • Eggs: 2
  • Flour: 2 tablespoons
  • Pepper powder: 1 teaspoon
  • Cornstarch: 2 tablespoons
  • Five-spice powder: ½ teaspoon
  • Salt: 1 teaspoon
  • Oil: 10 tablespoons
  • Salt and pepper seasoning: 1 teaspoon
  • Cumin powder: to taste
  • Chili powder: to taste

Instructions

  1. Wash the oyster mushrooms and tear them into even, small strips.
  2. In a bowl, mix the flour and cornstarch, add the two eggs, five-spice powder, pepper powder, and salt. Stir until well combined.
  3. Heat the oil in a pan to about 160°C (320°F) and fry the mushroom strips.
  4. Fry until golden brown, then remove and drain.
  5. Sprinkle it with salt and pepper seasoning, cumin powder, and chili powder to taste.
  6. Enjoy!
